'Super Mario Galaxy Movie' to stream on Peacock July 30
Peacock will stream the film with behind-the-scenes features, cast interviews and Easter-egg guides after it crossed $1 billion worldwide, the studio said.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will officially premiere on Peacock on July 30, concluding a 120-day theatrical window from its cinematic release.
Directed by Aaron Horvath, Michael Jelenic, and Pierre Leduc, the film crossed $1 billion at the global box office earlier this month, propelling the Nintendo franchise past the $2 billion mark.
Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto and Illumination's Chris Meledandri detailed their creative synergy in a Forbes interview, with Miyamoto stating the Super Mario Galaxy concept 'clicked as a key to creating the next movie.'
Peacock bonus content includes 'Next Level: Making The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,' a behind-the-scenes feature showcasing new cast members Brie Larson and Donald Glover alongside returning actors.
Although a third installment remains unconfirmed, the sequel's end-credits scene introduces fan-favorite character Daisy, signaling potential for future expansion within the Nintendo cinematic universe.
