SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – A section of a popular Summerville walking bridge is closing down to undergo maintenance repairs, the town announced Tuesday. Officials said the section on Central Avenue between Laurel Street and Pine Street will be blocked off to pedestrians starting Wednesday. The necessary repairs are expected to take about two weeks. Pedestrians should take alternate routes in the meantime.
