Summerland podcaster receives Telus Storyhive grant
Brad Riemer will receive $12,000 and training as the series expands to Telus platforms and a June 16 YouTube release.
Summerland podcaster Brad Riemer secured $12,000 in production funding and training from Telus Storyhive for his video podcast series, The Small Town Podcast.
The Small Town Podcast features interviews with community members, ranging from Olympians to agricultural workers, aiming to share hopeful and positive stories from Summerland residents.
Selected as one of 63 Canadian and Indigenous creators, Riemer is using the grant to upgrade equipment used to film and edit his 50-minute episodes.
On June 16, the series will debut on the Storyhive YouTube channel, alongside existing availability on Telus Optik TV Video On Demand and Stream+.
Following the completion of his first season, Riemer is seeking additional Telus funding to film a documentary about the new Summerland Jets Junior A hockey team.
