Climate change could lead to more frequent power outages in many countries. This is the conclusion of a new study by the European research network Econpol, presented on Tuesday. The study examined power outages in the consumer grid in five countries between 2013 and 2023: Germany, Australia, Brazil, China, and Mexico. In Germany, the number of unplanned power outages is lowest in winter and rises significantly in the height of summer.
