Students awarded for MLK essay contest

The Decatur County MLK Committee announced the winners of its annual MLK contest last Tuesday.  Bainbridge High School junior Kylaha Hughes won first place — the Mountain Top Prize — and earned $1,000 for her efforts. BHS sophomore McKenna Whitley won second place — the Justice Prize — and earned $250. Grace Christian Academy senior Walker Elrod won third place — the Leadership award — and also took home $250.
