Melanie Walters Bids Farewell to Strictly Come Dancing
The Gavin and Stacey actress and Aljaz Skorjanec lost the dance-off after judges split 3-1 to save Shaun Wright-Phillips and Alexis Warr.
On Sunday, Gavin and Stacey actress Melanie Walters became the second celebrity eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing after a dance-off against former footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips.
Following the public vote, both couples landed in the dance-off after low scores on Saturday's episode, with Walters scoring 17 for her Charleston and Wright-Phillips receiving 15 for his quickstep.
While judge Motsi Mabuse voted to save Walters, fellow judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, and Craig Revel Horwood chose to keep Wright-Phillips and his partner Alexis Warr in the competition.
Critiquing the dance, Revel Horwood remarked that he "didn't love" their performance, while Mabuse encouraged the actress to "keep going," and Du Beke praised Wright-Phillips for having "all the components to be a super, super dancer."
The elimination follows the departure of celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton last week, as the remaining 13 couples prepare for Icons Week on BBC One on Saturday, October 17.
