Stricter rules: Biowaste may hardly contain any plastic

Whether withered flowers, gammliger salad or fruit residues: Organic waste comes into the brown ton. But sometimes plastic, glass or sheet metal also end up there. For the waste industry this is a nuisance.

Too much plastic ends up in the biowaste ton. As of 1.5. new, stricter rules apply for the separation of waste.

Recycling: (dpa) plastics may not account for more than one percent of the total weight in the future, thus ensuring better compostability.

From 1 May, new rules will apply to what should not be included in the biowaste bin. Basically, it is about reducing the proportion of foreign material such as plastics. If this is ignored, this can also become more expensive for tenants.
