While storm Benjamin was in full swing, four fishermen were rescued off Ouistreham. Their ship had broken down since Wednesday night. Four fishermen were evacuated by helicopter on Thursday, October 23, 2025 off Ouistreham. They had declared themselves in distress after an engine failure and a collision put their ship in difficulty in dantesque weather conditions due to storm Benjamin's passage.
On Friday afternoon, both a rescue helicopter and the rescue boat Halfdan Grieg were dispatched to the sea area just outside Bø. A larger vessel had lost control of the boat.
If storm Benjamin did not cause major damage in Gironde, two people were injured. The department's firefighters carried out some 30 operations.
