'Stop using immediately' - Shoppers at Asda, Lidl and more issued recall warning
Shoppers are told to stop using affected units and return them for a full refund after a spool cover defect was found.
- Flymo has recalled The Flymo Simplitrim Strimmer due to a defect that may cause "physical injury." Shoppers at Asda, Lidl and other UK stores were warned to "stop using this product immediately" following the safety recall.
- During operation, the spool cover on affected units may break and be ejected at high speed. This failure has been observed during the first or second use of the product.
- Customers can identify the recalled product by its batch code 97083576-01, found on the label at the bottom of the handle. This allows verification of whether a specific unit requires return.
- Affected purchasers are asked to return the product to the nearest store for a full refund. Alternatively, customers can contact Flymo to arrange home collection of the recalled strimmer.
