A protected Auerhahn was apparently shot by a poacher in the Stelvio National Park near a remote mountain pasture.

A 40-year-old man from Val Venosta was caught in the Stilfserjoch National Park by the Carabinieri of Schluderns and Prad, as well as the State Forestry Service, firing a strictly protected auerhahn.
