State Lawmakers Push to Lower Diabetes Screening Threshold for Asians | BMI

New York State Senator Liu Chunyi and State Assemblyman Jin Daxi recently called on the state legislature to quickly pass a proposal S634B/A1206B, which is aimed at reforming the diabetes screening system in the Asian community. The bill advocates lowering the body mass index (BMI) threshold for diabetes screening from 25 to 23, so that Asian people can detect their risk of diabetes in a timely manner.
