State estimates Alaska could lose up to $500M annually in Medicaid spending because of budget reconciliation bill

ALASKA, JUL 23 – Alaska's Medicaid budget could decrease by up to 18%, risking coverage loss for thousands as new work and eligibility requirements start in 2027, officials said.

Alaska’s $2.7 billion annual Medicaid budget could shrink by up to 18% due to new work requirements and eligibility checks, the Department of Health said.
