Starting this Monday (May 4, 2026), crimes of theft, robbery, and receiving stolen goods will have harsher penalties. Law 15.397 of 2026, published in the Official Gazette of the Union, also expands the punishment for cases of fraud and cybercrimes, such as internet scams. Read the full text (PDF – 116 kB).
