France and Slovenia were slotted into the same group for this year's EuroBasket tournament on Thursday, meaning it's possible that Victor Wembanyama — if he's cleared to play — could meet Luka Doncic when the event starts in late August.

The Slovenian basketball team has found its opponents for the group stage of the autumn EuroBasket, and they will play in Katowice, Poland.

The Slovenian national basketball team has today found its opponents at the European Championship, which will begin on August 27th this year. The preliminary round will be played in Katowice, where it will face France, Poland, Israel, Iceland and Belgium in Group D.

Lithuania will play in Group B, where they will compete with Finland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Montenegro and Germany.

The meeting was held in Riga (Latvia) on Thursday 27 March for the draw of the Eurobasket groups (27 August-14 September).
