Spain's EU-harmonised annual inflation fell to 2.4%, its slowest pace in a year, thanks to lower fuel and food prices, preliminary data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE) showed on Thursday.
Inflation in Spain fell again, registering the third consecutive reduction. In August, the inflation rate stood at 2.2%, the Spanish statistical office confirmed. This is a decrease of six percentage points (p.p.) compared to the 2.8% achieved in the previous month. Economists expected inflation to fall to 2.4%, but the rate managed to fall more than expected.
