South African President Cyril Ramaphosa called for increased global oversight of AI and proposed that the BRICS group establish an international mechanism for independent scientific evaluation of the technology. The Prime Minister concluded his participation in the 18th BRICS Summit. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung attended the 18th BRICS Summit. China proposed five initiatives to further deepen cooperation within the bloc.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa stated that artificial intelligence could contribute to solving societal problems, but stressed that technology should never reach a point where it surpasses human capacity for understanding, monitoring, and controlling.
