Taipei, July 2 (CNA) The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) said Wednesday it will conduct a "strict review" of any proposed acquisition of Taiwanese tech company Source Photonics Co., Ltd., following media reports that a Chinese firm was planning to buy the Hsinchu-based company.
Dongshan Precision, a leading Chinese printed circuit board (PCB) company, recently announced that it would acquire Source Photonics, an optical communications company in Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan, for a high price of RMB 5.935 billion (approximately NT$24 billion), which has aroused national security concerns.
