The Japanese Sompo Group is continuing its international expansion, taking over Bermuda insurer Aspen, a majority shareholder of Apollo Capital Management. Sompo expects to strengthen its presence in international property and accident insurance from the $3.5 billion (EUR 3.0 billion) deal.
