McLaren Buoyed by Sprint Success in Miami, but Piastri Stutters in Qualifying

McLaren’s sprint pace faded in qualifying as Kimi Antonelli took pole and Oscar Piastri nearly missed Q1, officials said.

After a calamitous start to the season, Piastri now has two second-place finishes in a row to his name. But his qualifying performance in Miami was not as positive as the sprint race.

Woking’s team won the first win of the MCL40 and got a double with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri in the sprint race, thus breaking Mercedes’ dominance in the first three races of the season.
