Sole trader bankruptcies continue to rise

The number of bankruptcy filings by sole traders and self-employed individuals continued to increase in February. A total of 58 cases were filed, up 23% from February 2024, according to Statistics Finland. Sole traders saw the highest year-on-year increase in bankruptcy filings among all business types. However, the surge was less dramatic than in January, when filings in this category were 2.5 times higher than the previous year.
