Snowmelt weakens rail bed, causing Russellville derailment

Officials say a train derailment in Russellville was caused by melting snow that softened the ground beneath the tracks.Daniel Robbins, president of D&R Railroad, said the softened subgrade, along with a broken rail, caused a southbound train to derail.
