SNL UK: Freddie Meredith Joins Cast Ahead of Series 2 Premiere
Freddie Meredith joins the ensemble after an Edinburgh Fringe debut that earned a Best Newcomer nomination, while Sky sets host Jeff Goldblum for the premiere.
- SNL UK returns for its second season on September 12 on Sky and NOW, with American actor Jeff Goldblum hosting and Irish singer CMAT as musical guest. London-born actor and comedian Freddie Meredith joins the cast.
- Fresh off his Edinburgh Fringe Festival debut, Meredith won a Best Newcomer Award for his show 'Need a Light?'. He previously starred in the television series 'Such Brave Girls' and 'Big Boys'.
- The new cast member joins an ensemble of 11 returning actors: Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young.
- Describing the show as a 'no brainer,' Meredith said the role will 'undoubtedly inform everything I do for the rest of my career.' He trained at drama school before transitioning to stand-up and online sketches.
- Running for five more episodes until October 24, the series is overseen by executive producer Lorne Michaels. Sky unscripted chief Phil Edgar-Jones said the team is 'incredibly proud' of the show, which 'keeps getting better every week.
