Small fire breaks out in cell in central Pa. federal prison

ALLENWOOD – The cause of a small fire in a cell in the medium security prison at the Allenwood complex in Union County Monday evening is under investigation.The blaze was discovered about 8:45 p.m. in a special housing unit and was extinguished by staff with a fire extinguisher, a prison spokesperson said. Out of extra precaution, cells in the immediate area were evacuated, he said.
