Slender Man attacker won’t fight extradition to Wisconsin after fleeing group home
Morgan Geyser, released conditionally from a psychiatric facility, escaped her Madison group home with a companion and was caught in Illinois after cutting off her electronic monitor.
- Cook County court records show Morgan Geyser signed a waiver of extradition on Tuesday, giving Wisconsin 30 days to transfer her to Waukesha County.
- On Saturday night, Geyser allegedly removed her ankle monitor and fled her Madison group home, then took buses with Chad Mecca, 43, to Posen, Illinois, village of 5,300, where police arrested them.
- Years earlier, Geyser pleaded guilty in the 2014 stabbing that nearly killed Payton Leutner, and this past September a judge granted her conditional release after four petitions, placing her in a Madison group home earlier this year.
- Waukesha County District Attorney Lesli Boese has urged DHS to seek revocation of Geyser's conditional release, while Dane County prosecutors could file felony escape charges carrying up to six years.
- Posen police body-camera footage shows Geyser refusing to give her real name and telling officers to 'just Google' her, while she clutches a stuffed dog and officers find a notebook titled `Homeless Couples Guidebook` in their bags.
