LANCASTER COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA, JUN 2 – Six Honduran immigrants, including three juveniles, face murder, attempted armed robbery, and burglary charges after allegedly fatally shooting a mother during a random robbery attempt, authorities said.
- On May 2, 40-year-old Larisha Sharell Thompson was discovered deceased from a gunshot inside her car parked along Riverside Road in Lancaster, South Carolina.
- Six individuals aged 13 to 21, all determined to be in the country illegally, allegedly attempted a random robbery and verbally planned the crime afterward.
- Last month, authorities apprehended six individuals and formally accused them of killing a woman, trying to commit armed robbery, and committing burglary in the second degree, with ballistic evidence linking the fatal shooting to a 9 mm firearm also used in a nearby break-in.
- Sheriff Barry Faile strongly criticized the shooting as an act that goes against the basic principles of respect and humanity, while former Attorney General Charlie Condon characterized the crime as deliberate and highlighted the suspects’ complete lack of remorse.
