Six Flags Great Escape, Six Flags La Ronde Sold to New Owner
EPR Properties will manage seven former Six Flags parks across North America in a $342 million deal, honoring all season passes through 2026, with no immediate operational changes expected.
- On Thursday, U.S.-based EPR Properties announced it reached an agreement to acquire seven amusement and water parks from Six Flags for $342 million.
- Last year, Six Flags faced financial difficulties, including debt and attendance declines, prompting a large-scale sell-off of parks such as The Great Escape and La Ronde.
- Altogether, the seven parks span more than 1,600 acres, feature over 400 attractions, and draw about 4.5 million visitors a year, including Worlds of Fun, Valleyfair, and Six Flags St. Louis.
- EPR said the sale should not impact park operations and all season passes will be recognized through the 2026 operating season, with officials saying the deal is expected to close this spring.
- La Ronde will be managed by La Ronde Operations Inc., owned by Kieran Burke, and The Great Escape will continue under a lease to Enchanted Parks as a Kansas City, MO-based company takes over several former Six Flags regional properties.
