Singapore ‘stands ready’ to assist Indonesia on forest fires amid haze, says Grace Fu
On Thursday, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim contacted Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto regarding the "alarming" transboundary haze affecting Malaysia, and Prabowo agreed to take necessary steps to address the crisis.
The Department of Environment reported 38 areas in Malaysia recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index readings, with Segamat, Johor reaching 187, attributed to 210 hotspots detected in Sumatra on Oct 7.
