No. 4 Notre Dame Rules Out LB Drayk Bowen for Showdown Against No. 1 Miami
The senior linebacker’s injury could leave Notre Dame without a key starter after he made his 36th straight start against Navy.
Notre Dame released its injury report on Monday, confirming starting linebacker Drayk Bowen will miss Saturday's game due to a significant right ankle injury.
Bowen leads the Fighting Irish with 45 tackles this season and wears the radio helmet to relay defensive coordinators' play calls from the sideline to teammates on the field.
Coach Marcus Freeman downplayed the communication loss, saying the radio setup is "more of a backup" and the stadium's expected volume would limit its effectiveness anyway.
Notre Dame's injury report also lists defensive linemen Francis Brewu and Jason Onye as questionable with knee injuries, while defensive backs Brauntae Johnson and DJ McKinney remain out.
The Fighting Irish face a critical matchup this Saturday with their defensive rotation significantly depleted by multiple absences across the secondary and linebacker positions.
