Pascal Siakam scored 30 points and Tyrese Haliburton added 23 points and 12 assists in his first regular-season game back.
On Wednesday, Oct. 21, the Indiana Pacers defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 123-120 in their season opener, led by the return of star point guard Tyrese Haliburton.
Haliburton played his first meaningful game in 486 days after rupturing his right Achilles tendon during Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Pascal Siakam led the Pacers in scoring, while center Ivica Zubac added a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds; the team shot 67% in the fourth quarter.
Trailing late, the Pacers rallied behind Haliburton's playmaking as Quentin Jackson hit two free throws with 45.7 seconds remaining, and Zion Williamson missed a final finger roll.
On Friday, the Pacers host Milwaukee while the Pelicans visit Utah to continue their respective campaigns.
