Shoppers warned 'do not eat' three M&S products due to Salmonella contamination
Greencore is recalling salads and ready meals after Salmonella was found in pistachio nuts, with point-of-sale notices now displayed in stores.
The Food Standards Agency issued a recall on Friday for specific Marks & Spencer salads and Tesco ready meals after Salmonella was detected, with point-of-sale notices now displayed in stores across the country.
Manufacturer Greencore initiated the recall after testing identified Salmonella in pistachio nuts used as an ingredient, prompting the company to withdraw affected items from shelves.
Affected items include Marks & Spencer Super Nutty Wholefood, Nutrient Dense Nutty Super Wholefood, and Fresh Collection Pistachio Pesto, alongside two Pinch brand ready meals sold at Tesco with use-by dates up to October 10.
Marks & Spencer advised customers: "Please do not consume this product. Any customers in possession of these products can return it to their nearest store where a full refund will be given." The retailer apologized for inconvenience.
Salmonella symptoms typically include fever, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps. Anyone infected should stay away from work, school, or nursery for at least 48 hours after symptoms cease to prevent spreading the illness.
