Shoppers at Tesco, Asda, Morrisions & more warned of £100 fine over little-known rule

Many supermarkets use Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras to monitor vehicles. These systems issue Parking Charge Notices for rule breaches, with fines ranging from £40 to £100.
"Check the signage as you enter the car park carefully," Conway urged, noting that regulations vary by store and are causing real confusion among motorists.
Beyond after-hours rules, motorists should follow common parking regulations including time limits and bay restrictions. Rules typically require parking within marked bays and restrict parent-child or disabled spaces to eligible users.
