Shohei Ohtani Back in the Leadoff Spot and Launches a 3-Run Homer for the Dodgers in NLCS Game 4
Ohtani answered an early strikeout with a 428-foot homer, his first since Aug. 18, and gave the Dodgers a 4-0 lead.
On Thursday, Shohei Ohtani hit a 3-run homer during Game 4 of the National League Championship Series, giving the Los Angeles Dodgers a 4-0 lead at Dodger Stadium against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Struggling with knee and biceps injuries, Ohtani entered the game batting.182 in the playoffs while the Dodgers faced elimination, trailing the Milwaukee Brewers 3-0 in the series.
Ohtani's blast off Dustin May left his bat at 113.1 mph, marking his first home run since Aug. 18 after striking out in the first inning and losing his helmet.
Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts restored Ohtani to the leadoff spot, saying, "Baking all that in, I felt absolutely, put him at the top."
Despite the victory, the Dodgers face an uphill climb to reach the World Series, as only one team has ever recovered from a 3-0 deficit in a best-of-seven series.
