Shelby Co. child predator sting nets nearly a dozen arrests

Shelby County Prosecutor James B. Landwerlen announced that last week’s three-day undercover sting in Shelbyville led to 11 arrests and the rescue of an infant from sexual abuse.
More than 75 officers and agents from 21 local, state and federal agencies coordinated the operation, with undercover officers posing as minors online to identify suspects.
The 11 arrested include individuals charged with offenses from attempted child molest to drug dealing, with ten charged in Shelby County and one in Clinton County, including attorney Robert Owen Bland and undocumented immigrant Fernando Coronado-Olivares.
Some alleged offenders are in custody with charges pending, and officials urged the public to report exploitation, with Landwerlen praising officers as 'Their genuine dedication to protecting children is incredible'.
The operation was the first large-scale effort by the newly formed Shelby County ICAC Task Force, shattering the previous local ICAC arrest record of eight with 11 arrests.
