- On Tuesday, the San Jose Sharks placed defenseman Nick Leddy on injured reserve and welcomed John Klingberg back for their four-game homestand opener against the Los Angeles Kings at SAP Center.
- Leddy sustained an upper-body injury in the Sharks' Oct. 23 game at Madison Square Garden and missed the trip's final games, while Klingberg was injured earlier this month in the Oct. 14 game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
- With Leddy on IR, the Sharks recalled center Patrick Giles from the San Jose Barracuda of the AHL, and Klingberg will be paired with Mario Ferraro as they seek back-to-back wins.
- Adam Gaudette is unavailable after he was injured in Sunday's 6-5 overtime win over the Minnesota Wild, increasing the Sharks' need at center as their homestand continues with games against the New Jersey Devils Thursday, Colorado Avalanche Saturday, and Detroit Red Wings Sunday.
- Carrying a nine-game home skid, San Jose Sharks faced Tuesday with goaltender Yaroslav Askarov holding a 1-3-1 record and a.855 save percentage after stopping 54 of 61 in prior games.
