Severe thunderstorm warning expires across Lehigh Valley, Poconos as storms weaken
A severe thunderstorm warning for a large swath of the Lehigh Valley and Poconos on Tuesday evening has expired. The warning was in effect until 9 p.m. for all of Lehigh, Carbon and Monroe counties, as well as northwestern Northampton and northern Berks County, according to the National Weather Service. Update: The severe thunderstorm warning for Pennsylvania is likely to expire at 9 p.m.
The warning was active for Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe and Northampton counties."The storms which prompted the warning have weakened below severe limits, and no longer pose an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire," according to the National Weather Service.
