Severe thunderstorms, ping pong ball-sized hail possible in northwestern Ontario

Severe thunderstorm watches have been issued for much of northwestern Ontario, with strong wind gusts and large hail possible late Monday afternoon and evening. The yellow-level watches, first issued early Monday afternoon, warn of wind gusts up to 110 km/h and up to “ping pong ball-sized” hail, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
