On August 14, 2018, a previously unknown motorway bridge gained worldwide sad fame: At 11:36 a.m., the Morandi bridge collapsed in Genoa on a length of 250 meters, over 30 vehicles were carried along, 43 people died. On August 3, 2020, the new bridge "Ponte San Giorgio" was opened.
