4 Arrested After 7 Hurt in Fourth of July Shooting on Hilton Head Island

The violence stemmed from a physical altercation between two groups of beachgoers that escalated into gunfire, with multiple firearms recovered from the scene.
Authorities arrested Jayden Hawes, 18, Marcello Royal, 17, Quazeir Davis, 17, and Christopher Capers, 17, charging three with attempted murder and Capers with accessory after the fact.
Seven victims sustained non-fatal gunshot wounds and received treatment at area hospitals, while Mayor Alan Perry emphasized that public safety remains his community's highest priority.
Officials are now enhancing the public safety camera system at Coligny Beach using Flock Safety technology, as BCSO continues its active investigation with further charges pending.
