Long delays after serious collision blocks M25
A serious car incident blocked the clockwise M25 at junction 27, causing traffic delays up to junction 28 and congestion on diversion routes, National Highways said.
- On Saturday, December 27 at 11.23am initial reports said a serious incident at junction 27, Epping blocked the M25 clockwise and left drivers stationary for miles.
- Inrix reported a "serious" incident believed to involve a car, and emergency services including Essex Police attended as lanes between junction 11 and junction 28 closed shortly before lunchtime.
- National Highways reported drivers were advised to follow Hollow Triangle signs, exit at J27 onto the M11 towards London, with southbound M11 traffic not moving between junctions 27 and 28.
- The vehicle involved in the collision was recovered and M25 clockwise reopened at around 1.40pm, with residual delays of up to 30 minutes on the approach.
