1 Killed, 3 Seriously Hurt in Crash that Shut Down Part of Route 3
A deadly two-vehicle collision happened just after 2:30 p.m. on June 6, 2025, near mile marker 89 on Route 3 in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts.
The crash led agencies, including Tyngsborough and Massachusetts State Police, to completely shut down the roadway for investigation and emergency response.
One person died and three others sustained serious injuries, including two pediatric patients and a person in their 20s with penetrating abdominal wounds.
Authorities requested drivers avoid Route 3, reopened the southbound lanes by 3:40 p.m., and fully reopened the roadway shortly before 6:00 p.m., while some northbound lanes remained closed until after 6:00 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing, and police continue to advise the public to use alternate routes as the scene remains active and the cause is undetermined.
