SWEIDA PROVINCE, SYRIA, AUG 9 – Sheikh Hikmat Al-Hijri called for International Criminal Court referral citing over 1,200 deaths in clashes marked by alleged genocide and war crimes against the Druze community.

Sheikh Hikmat Al-Hijri, leader of Syria's Druze community, has called for an international investigation into recent deadly clashes in Sweida involving Druze militias and Sunni Bedouin tribes. Al-Hijri thanked the US, Israel, and Arab Gulf countries for their support, and urged international observer missions for civilian protection.
"There is no ceasefire, this is a false representation carried by the jihadist regime led by the terrorist in the suit," said Col. (res.) Shadi Abu Fares on 103fm, "The Americans and Europeans are a bit naive, but I can't understand the State of Israel."

The plan, warned Sheikh Hikmat al-Hajri, includes a siege of the Suwayda district. • In addition, he accused Arab media outlets of covering up war crimes committed in the region in recent weeks. • "An independent international investigation must be launched, those involved must be referred to the International Criminal Court, and international monitoring missions must be sent to protect civilians," he said in an address to the UN.
