Senior B.C. Mountie David Teboul pleads guilty to assault
The guilty plea follows an off-duty altercation and comes after Teboul faced three assault-related charges involving two people.
RCMP Assistant Commissioner David Teboul pleaded guilty to assault on Wednesday at the Abbotsford courthouse, resolving charges stemming from an off-duty altercation in July 2025.
The BC Prosecution Service appointed Andi MacKay as special prosecutor in August 2025 after the Abbotsford Police Department investigated allegations, citing need "to avoid any potential for real or perceived improper influence in the administration of justice."
Teboul originally faced two counts of assault and one count of assault causing bodily harm by choking, suffocating, or strangling involving two people whose names remain protected by a publication ban.
Trial dates scheduled for Tuesday were vacated following the guilty plea, which concluded the case in Abbotsford before proceedings could commence.
Before the charges, Teboul served as Commander of the RCMP Federal Policing program in the Pacific Region, overseeing operations throughout British Columbia including fentanyl production lab investigations.
