- With 22 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers , Oyedele rose to Africa Tax Leader overseeing over 20 countries and holds academic roles at Babcock University and Lagos Business School.
- Oyedele pledged to pursue fiscal reforms, and senators expressed confidence in his competence, with Akpabio describing him as a highly qualified technocrat; he will replace Mrs Doris Uzoka-Anite, who moves to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning.
- He proposed a comprehensive review of government finances, including domestic arrears analysis, urging policy stability and legislative guarantees to unlock investment in the solid minerals sector, as nearly half of budgets are financed through deficit borrowing.
