Euro De Foot Hopes: Blocked by Their Club, Four Frenchmen of Whom Kalimuendo Will Not Go to Slovakia

Bouaddi (Lille), Krupi (Lorient), Jacquet and Kalimuendo (Rennes) will not play the Euro because their clubs did not release them. The dates of the competition were not organised on FIFA dates.

As the Euro Espoirs approached Slovakia (June 11-28), five French players declared a package this Tuesday. Four, uninjured, are held by their club, which has no obligation to release them since the competition is not on FIFA's calendar. Gérald Baticle expressed his incomprehension and annoyance at the situation this Tuesday at a press conference.

The European Soccer Championship will be held from 11 to 28 June 2025 in Slovakia, with the team of France... but without many of its best elements. The competition taking place outside FIFA dates, the clubs are not obliged to release their players, as at the 2024 Olympic Games.
