- The attack occurred barely 24 hours after Star World Ventures, the same transport operator, faced a similar stone-pelting incident in Karnal, Haryana, on Saturday. Khanna Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar Yadav said authorities are probing whether the two attacks are linked.
- Bus driver Ishfaq Ahmad Sofi reported the vehicle carried around 35 passengers from Delhi to Srinagar when stones were thrown near Doraha. Sofi said he immediately stopped the bus, causing panic among travelers including women and children.
- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the attack, saying 'this unfortunate incident should never have taken place.' Peoples Democratic Party leader Waheed Para and Kashmir Students Association national convenor Nasir Khuehami demanded arrests and accountability.
- Authorities registered an FIR at the Doraha police station and are scanning CCTV footage from nearby locations to identify suspects. Investigation is underway to determine whether the motive involved mischief, extortion, or a targeted attempt.
