Seatrium and Karpowership Extend Collaboration with Ninth FSRU Conversion
The project will convert LNGT Akdeniz into an FSRU with regasification capacity of up to 600 MMscfd, Seatrium said.
On Monday, Singapore-based Seatrium Limited and Karpowership announced their ninth Floating Storage Regasification Unit conversion project, LNGT Akdeniz, expanding their long-standing partnership in floating LNG infrastructure.
This award follows the delivery of seven FSRUs since 2018 and the ongoing conversion of LNGT Karadeniz, the partnership's eighth project, under a previously signed Letter of Intent between the companies.
Featuring a regasification capacity of up to 600 million standard cubic feet per day, LNGT Akdeniz will enhance LNG import capabilities, with Seatrium handling engineering, conversion, integration, installation, and commissioning of regasification equipment.
Kinetics, Karpowership's energy transition initiative, will expand its LNG fleet to 12 assets with this vessel, strengthening the companies' ability to provide reliable and flexible energy solutions where energy security is critical.
Alvin Gan, Executive Vice President, Repairs and Upgrades at Seatrium, said the project is "a testament to the strength of this collaboration," as global demand for flexible energy infrastructure drives both companies to explore new opportunities together.
