Sean Baker’s ‘Anora’ Follow-Up ‘Ti Amo!’ Set at New Warner Bros. Movie Label Clockwork
The specialty label will focus on smartly budgeted global theatrical releases and plans two or three films a year, Warner Bros. said.
- At CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group Co-Chairs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy unveiled Clockwork, a new specialty label, acquiring global rights to Academy Award-winning filmmaker Sean Baker's next feature, Ti Amo!.
- Former Neon executive Christian Parkes leads the division, reporting to De Luca and Abdy. Parkes joins fellow Neon alumni Jason Wald and Spencer Collantes, with the label targeting two to three releases annually.
- Baker will write, direct, edit, and produce Ti Amo!, reteaming with Anora producers Alex Coco and Samantha Quan. Financed by FilmNation Entertainment, the project releases globally in 2027, excluding France.
- Clockwork aims to develop and acquire 'smartly budgeted' global theatrical releases, seeking to replicate the brand-building success typically associated with independent distributors like A24 and Neon.
- This acquisition marks a significant transition for Baker, who departs habitual indie distributors A24 and Neon. His previous work, Anora, won the Palme d'Or and Academy Awards for best director, original screenplay, and editing.
