As Seahawks Struggle to Run, Kenneth Walker III on Historic Pace with Chiefs
Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught nine passes for 150 yards and a touchdown as Seattle’s defense held Kansas City to 213 total yards.
The Seattle Seahawks defeated the previously unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs 20-3 on Sunday night, handing the visitors their first loss of the season. The victory snapped a two-game skid for Seattle, moving the team to 4-3.
Coach Mike Macdonald's defense stifled the Kansas City offense, limiting them to just 213 total yards and three points. The unit extended a streak of 36 consecutive games without allowing a 100-yard rusher.
Receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba recorded nine catches for 150 yards and a touchdown, while running back Emanuel Wilson added 100 yards and a score. Quarterback Sam Darnold threw for 257 yards.
This win, combined with the San Francisco 49ers' 29-20 loss to Atlanta earlier Sunday, places the Seahawks back in contention for the NFC West division title. Seattle now trails San Francisco by two games.
Seattle continues its three-game homestand next week, hosting the Chicago Bears on November 2. The team expects to activate running back Zach Charbonnet from injured reserve following his ACL recovery.
