Scotland Coach Steve Clarke Extends Contract to 2030 World Cup
On Thursday, Scottish Football Association chief executive Ian Maxwell announced Steve Clarke signed a contract extension keeping him as men's head coach through the 2030 World Cup.
The 62-year-old Clarke has managed Scotland for seven years and is the country's most successful coach, having secured qualification for three major tournaments including consecutive European Championships.
This four-year deal provides stability for the squad, specifically including the 2028 European Championship that Scotland will co-host with England, Wales, and Ireland.
Scotland faces Group C opponents Brazil, Morocco, and Haiti in the 2026 World Cup in North America, a tournament qualified for last November with a 4-2 win over Denmark.
"During our discussions about the future we were all agreed that we cannot rest on our achievements," Maxwell said, emphasizing renewed purpose for the squad over four years.
