BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Acting Mayor Chris Scanlon is discontinuing his third-party bid and dropping out of the mayoral race, the Board of Elections confirmed. Scanlon, who has served as Buffalo's acting mayor since October, lost the Democratic primary on Tuesday to State Senator Sean Ryan, who had the endorsement of the Erie County Democratic Committee.
